Scorpions
Scorpions (в переводе с английского – «Скорпионы») – культовая рок-команда из Германии. Создана в 1965-м Рудольфом Шенкером. В 1969-м в коллектив пришли младший брат Рудольфа – Михаэль Шенкер с вокалистом Клаусом Майне. Как позже рассказывал Клаус, все даже самые маленькие деньги, что ребята зарабатывали, вкладывались в Scorpions, по этой же причине Шенкер пытался убедить его завязать с курением. Накопив более-менее приличную сумму, команда купила Mercedes и гастролировала на нем, тратя на дорогу по несколько часов. Популярные немецкие рок-коллективы первой половины 70-х работали в экспериментальном стиле, а над британо-американским роком «Скорпионов» национальная желтая пресса потешалась. На мировую хард-рок сцену коллектив вышел в 1972-м, издав свою премьерную пластинку Lonesome Crow. В 1973-м Михаэль ушел в популярную лондонскую рок-команду UFO, а Рудольф решил войти в состав коллектива Dawn Road, куда чуть позже позвали и Клауса Майне. Таким образом, предыдущих Scorpions не осталось, а Dawn Road назвалась этим именем, уже ставшим известным в Германии. В таком составе команда выпустила новый альбом.
В 1975-м британская желтая пресса резко негативно воспринимала рок-коллектив из Германии — Scorpions, исполняющий англоязычные синглы, вставляя язвительные шуточки в их адрес на военную тему. Несмотря на осадок от таких провокаций, всем своим поведением и творчеством команда показывала и утверждала, что они – новое поколение Германии, которое несет красивую музыку и мир, а не войну. Они сами ощущали и видели, что благодаря их музыкальному влиянию протягиваются нити взаимопонимания между государствами и поколениями, что Scorpions меняют мир в лучшую сторону. Новые пластинки 1975-го и 1976-го годов продемонстрировали, что коллектив отыскал свой индивидуальный стиль – невероятно сильные риффы, замысловатые гитарные соло и ложащиеся на слух вокальные партии. Востребованность Scorpions в европейских и азиатских странах все увеличивалась, в гастрольных турах команда бывала подолгу. Но основной целью их было преуспеть в США. В 1977-м Михаэль, выступавший в то время с UFO в Лос-Анджелесе, созвонился с Рудольфом Шенкером и задал вопрос, почему Scorpions до сих пор не дают концертов в Штатах, на это Рудольф ответил, что им не составит труда моментально туда отправится. Пластинка 1977-го содержала открытое коллективом их фирменное отличие – сильные баллады. Она получилась достаточно успешной и в коммерческом плане.
В 1979-м выходит новый альбом Scorpions, на котором можно было услышать и гитарное соло вернувшегося ненадолго в коллектива Михаэля, а также нового, впоследствии закрепившегося в основном составе участника, Маттиаса Ябса. Эта пластинка сделала Scorpions триумфаторами, принеся им мировую славу (и США в том числе). У коллектива начинаются длительные гастрольные туры, а их альбом 1982-го года попадает в лучшую десятку Billboard, ровно как и последовавшая за ней пластинка Love at First Sting, в которую вошел мега-хит Scorpions «Still Loving You» (перевод с английского на русский текста песни можно почитать ниже). Со слов Майне, турне по США в 80-е были одной непрекращающейся пирушкой, к счастью, без тяжелых последствий в виде неприятностей с принятием наркотиков и так далее. Самой лучшей работой, созданной Scorpions за всю свою творческую деятельность, по праву считается пластинка Crazy World, вышедшая в 1990-м. А композиция с нее «Wind of Change», написанная ими под впечатлением от начавшейся перестройки в СССР, стала лидером чартов по всему свету и оказалась первым синглом коллектива с реализацией свыше 1 млн. экземпляров. Слава Scorpions достигла своей высшей точки.
А к концу 90-х участники команды чувствовали себя иссякшими. В 1999-м выходит экспериментальная пластинка коллектива Eye II Eye — в тот период Scorpions были недалеко от прекращения существования коллектива. В европейских странах и Штатах этот альбом был встречен без особых эмоций. Интуитивно команда отправилась на гастроли в Азию – и угадала, там их ждал грандиозный успех – в Таиланде, Корее и других странах. И в дальнейшие года – вплоть до 2012-го, коллектив ориентировался в своей гастрольной деятельности в большей степени на те страны, где был наиболее востребован. В 2012-м же участники группы сообщили, что не собираются полностью прекращать свою деятельность, а лишь перестанут активно гастролировать, сконцентрировавшись на студийной работе. Когда создавалась пластинка 2010-го года, Майне чувствовал, что это подходящее время для завершения деятельности коллектива, но уже работая над альбомом следующего года, они поняли, что у них еще много энергии для дальнейшего творчества. И в 2015-м, выпустив к своему полувековому юбилею 20-ю пластинку, группа объявила о планируемых гастролях в 2015-2016-е по европейским странам.
