Товарищ задал вопрос о том, что выбрать SCDW, SLDW и что такое Refundable Excess Rate.
Делюсь знаниями и опытом:
CDW — Collision Damage Waiver — повреждения в результате столкновения (грубо, ДТП) или повреждения авто снаружи (кузов, бампера, колёса. )
LDW — Loss Damage Waiver — любой ущерб, что включает в себя CDW, возгорание и т.п.
THW — Theft Waiver — угон.
Excess — франшиза, т.е. часть размера ущерба, которую покрывает страхователь (арендатор). Если сумма ущерба меньше суммы франшизы, то получается, что весь ущерб покрывается страхователем.
Стандартные, минимальные условия, предлагают довольно высокую франшизу (пускай это будет, для примера, 900 евро, что недалеко от «рыночного стандарта»).
Существуют доплаты за уменьшение суммы франшизы. Обычно, доплаты сводят размер франшизы к нулю. Называться эти доплаты могут по-разному.
Например, Super CDW — может обозначать доплату за сведение франшизы по CDW (ДТП) до нуля.
А, к примеру, Super LDW может снижать до нуля франшизу не только по CDW, но и по краже (THW) и/или по любым причинам повреждений (LDW).
Допустим, вы не взяли программу, сводящую размер франшизы до нуля. Тогда rent-a-car захочет защитить себя от ситуации, когда вы не заплатите франшизу — мол, ищи-свищи потом ветра в поле. Поэтому он заблокирует на вашей банковской карте сумму франшизы и снимет блокировку по истечении некоторого времени после возврата автомобиля, если в период аренды ничего не произойдет. Ну, или использует эту сумму для покрытия ущерба.
Некоторые конторы предлагают услугу Refundable Excess. Насколько я понимаю, это своего рода страховка на сумму франшизы и стоить она может меньше, чем SCDW/SLDW. Суть услуги сводится к следующему: если вы оплатили часть ущерба в пределах суммы франшизы и предоставили подтверждающие такую оплату документы рент-а-кару, то контора возмещают уплаченную франшизу. Потом. Если вы предоставил правильные документы и соблюли все условия и не попали под разные ограничения.

If you have purchased one of our «Refundable Excess» products, you will be reimbursed for any excess paid to the supplier for accidental damage. This possible refund is NOT an insurance but a service.
When damage is caused to interior, underside, or roof of vehicle.
When any rental vehicle has been driven off-road, on unpaved roads, in unauthorized countries or areas.
When the driver is not named and authorized on the rental agreement.
When the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
When any fraudulent, dishonest, or criminal act has been committed by the driver and/or passengers.
When the damage is caused by the driver due to: gross negligence or intent, adding wrong fuel, traffic violations, burned clutch, using the hand brake incorrectly When the vehicle is stolen due to the loss of keys.
When parts of the vehicle are stolen as well as personal belongings from the interior.
Also excluded from any refund are towing fees, extra costs for overnight accomodation, public transportation, taxis and adminstrative fees of car rental suppliers.
The «excess refund» will not apply if the vehicle is not returned to a car hire company employee within the designated office operating hours.
In the event of an accident, damage to or theft of vehicle or upon discovering new damage to the rental vehicle, it is important that the details are reported to the supplier within 24 hours.
An accident report form must be completed, by the end of the rental period, with the supplier.
Local police should be notified in the case of accidents, theft and new damages and a signed police report obtained. In case of a third party not being present or having committed a hit & run a report can also be filed at the local police station.
All third party details should be collected — the supplier informed — and details forwarded to the rental office.
The rental car supplier must authorize any repair or replacement of the vehicle prior to said repair/replacement.
Retain copies of all of the rental documentation.
Should these procedures not be followed — your claim may be invalidated.
Procedure for Reclaiming Excess:
In order to start the process of claiming back your excess charges please contact customer service and reference your voucher number.
You will receive a refundable excess request form which you must fill out and return within 90 days of returning the vehicle. Please provide as much detail as possible.
We will require your rental documentation — signed rental agreement, final invoice, check out/check in form, accident/damage report, repair estimate/repair bill, police report, credit card statement showing the supplier charges, and any photographs and names and details of involved parties.
If you are missing any documentation, the rental company will request this of the supplier. Please note, the more information and documentation with which we are provided, the quicker we can process. When we must request more information or missing documents from the suppliers, this can delay the process by up to 8 weeks.
As soon as a determination has been made — rental office will contact you per email so that you have everything in writing for reference.
900 евро покрывают большинство возможных проблем при столкновениях, поэтому плата за страховку относительно низкая. Машины в европах крадут редко, если не оставлять их в разнообразных гетто на расстоянии вытянутой руки всяких депривированных элементов.
Поэтому есть смысл взять страховку CDW/LDW+THW+SCDW, т.е. повреждения при ДТП или любые повреждения + угон + снижение до 0 франшизы за повреждения при ДТП. Если разница между SCDW и SLDW невелика, то есть смысл взять SLDW (или её аналог) и забыть о франшизе вообще. По моему скромному мнению.
Кстати: Budget — это тот же AVIS, только дешевле.
