А потом хватает в руки фаустпатрон, чтобы подбить приехавший по зову скриптов танк. Или снайперскую винтовку — чтобы прикрывать союзников с крыши и отстреливать вражеских снайперов. При этом особо удачные выстрелы сопровождаются замедленной съемкой летящей в череп врага пули. Здесь же и обязательные упражнения со станковыми пулеметами и зенитками, из которых нужно сбивать немецко-фашистские самолеты. Есть и знакомый по последним сериям Call of Duty штурм закрытых помещений, когда герой сносит дверь, врывается в комнату, а потом в эффектном «слоу-мо» расстреливает опешивших врагов.
Как и в Sniper: Ghost Warrior, экшен и снайперские радости чередуются со стелсом. На некоторых достаточно просторных уровнях можно сначала осмотреть местность через бинокль, пометить таким образом врагов, а потом решить, как действовать дальше: строить из себя Рэмбо и идти напролом или обернуться этаким Сэмом Фишером, который на корточках крадется мимо врагов, отвлекает их бросками камешка и тихо вырубает по одному. Есть и подсмотренная у коллег возможность взять врага в заложники, а потом безжалостно пристрелить его.
Репортеры без границ
Все это сопровождается попытками создать динамичную сюжетную драму. Наш герой, американский журналист Рой Хоукинс, проходит путь от экстремального репортера, который ради громкой статьи лично участвует в военных операциях против фашистов, до одного из лидеров варшавского сопротивления. Он спасает французских девушек и польских священников, устраивает диверсии на норвежском заводе, рассказывает суровому польскому мужчине про свои прошлые подвиги. И даже конфликтует с неким британским спецназовцем во время очередной диверсионной операции.
Работа снайпера, как и баллистика, реализована примитивнее, чем в Sniper: Ghost Warrior и Sniper Elite. Стелс выглядит необязательным приложением к основному действию — как правило, проще и быстрее всех перестрелять в открытую. А поиск секретов и выполнение побочных заданий вроде спасения от расстрела представителей сопротивления ничем внятным не мотивируются.
Еще один существенный недостаток Enemy Front — отсутствие возможности использовать бронетехнику и транспорт. В итоге игроку приходится на своих двоих совершать достаточно длительные и скучные забеги по карте.
Плюсы: симпатичная графика; местами веселые перестрелки.
Минусы: тотальная вторичность; слабая режиссура; игра морально устарела.
