Знаю, что тема эта настолько сложна и обширна, что по ней диссертацию можно защищать, и некоторые, возможно, уже сделали это, но я попробую оценить текст песни со своей колокольни.
Помню, еще будучи ребенком я посмотрела фильм «The Wall» ► «Стена», который произвел на меня неизгладимое впечатление. И именно эта песня запомнилась мне навсегда. Эти школьники, шагающие по конвейеру и потерявшие свои лица, эта страшная мясорубка, в которую они безвольно падали! Мое детское сознание еще не знало, что такое метафора и для меня этот шедевр от Пинк Флойд стал настоящим кошмаром, похуже «Улицы Вязов».

Двойное отрицание меняет смысл предложения на противоположный. и мне кажется, так автор песни хотел показать, что как раз настоящего образования детам очень не хватет. ( Нам нужно образование, а не ваша муштра! )Кстати, тот же прием использовали Роллинг Стоунз: («I сan’t get no Satisfaction»)

Ну и конечно же не могу не сказать пару слов о музыкальной составляющей композиции: минимализм, присущий Пинк Флойд здесь особенно ярко проявлен. Аранжировка чистая и оставляет много пространства для мысли.

1) В основу альбома Animals лег роман — антиутопия Джорджа Оруэлла «Скотный двор», в результате, получилась социальная пародия, в которой люди делятся на свиней, которые всем заправляют, собак, которые им прислуживают и овец, которыми правят свиньи. Три свиньи, о которых идёт речь в песне, это три типа людей, стоящих у власти: деловые люди, политики и моралисты.
2) Здесь намек на «Железную леди» Маргарет Тэтчер, которая в то время возглавила Консервативную партию Великобритании, и которую всегда недолюбливали британские интеллектуалы и элита за ее происхождение из низшего сословия, здесь, так же, сарказм по поводу ее увлечения охотой и рыбалкой.
3) Здесь речь идет о Мери Уайтхауз, возглавлявшей Национальную ассоциацию зрителей и слушателей, которая выступала за жесткую цензуру на радио и телевидении, и которая еще когда-то раньше обвиняла PINK FLOYD в пропаганде наркотиков и сексуальной свободы.
