MY BEST FRIENDS
Friendship plays a very important role in our life. People usually make friends when they go to the same school, work together or live nearby. It’s difficult to ex: plain how two quite different persons make friends. You can have a lot of acquaintances but only a few true friends. It depends on many things. Among them are age, social status, mutual interests and sometimes personal qualities. It is easier to make friends with persons who are much alike you, though sometimes these factors are of no importance.
Now I want to tell you about people whom I consider to be my friends. One of them is Nick. He is an old friend of mine. We went to the first form together because he lived next door to me. Now he is a tall young man with dark hair, blue eyes and oval face. He is rather strong and well-built because he is a sportsman. He played volleyball well in our school team. He is going to enter the Mathematical faculty of the University this year. He was always strong in mathemat¬ics and he helped me very often with my home tasks. I think he will be able to pass his entrance examinations and become a student.
My another best friend is Marina. She is a very pretty girl. She has big blue eyes, fair hair and a nice smile. She is a schoolgirl now. She studies well and she wants to be¬come a doctor. She will try to enter the Medical Institute next year and I hope her first attempt will be successful. I’m sure she will make a good doctor.
I often meet my friends. We talk about our school life and our schoolmates. I like to spend my free-time-with my friends.

Even a day of a person can’t pass without communication. Society means more than it might seem for the first time. People communicate, quarrel, argue, express their points of view. We are all different, but a desire to communicate unites us and makes us “men”.
I personally nodivide people into friends and acquaintances. Acquaintances are ordinary people, with whom I happen to meet from time to time. As for friends, they mean a great deal for me. A friend is not just a pal or acquaintance. A friend is a person whom you can always rely on, share your thoughts and secrets. Friends never leave me in trouble. I’m one hundred percent sure of it.
Despite all the advantages of real friends, I finally found one minus. True and loyal friends are hard to find. It so happens that a person had lived the whole life, had many friends and acquaintances, but hadn’t understood what «true friendship» was. I can’t even imagine how to live without friends, but probably «to each his own».
Человек и дня не может обходиться без общения. Общество значит больше, чем может показаться на первый взгляд. Люди общаются, ссорятся, спорят, высказывают свою точку зрения. Мы все разные, но желание общения нас объединяет и делает нас что называется «людьми».
Лично я разделяю людей на знакомых и друзей. Знакомые – это обычные люди, с которые я случайно встречаюсь время от времени. Что касается друзей, то друзья для меня очень много значат. Друг – это не просто приятель или знакомый. Друг – это человек, на которого всегда можно положиться, поделиться своими мыслями и секретами. Друзья не оставят никогда меня в беде. Я уверен в этом на все сто процентов.
Несмотря на все плюсы настоящих друзей, я все-таки нашел один минус. Настоящих и преданных друзей найти нелегко. Бывает так, что человек прожил всю жизнь, имел много приятелей и знакомых, но так и не понял, что такое «настоящая дружба. Я даже не представляю, как можно жить без друзей, но наверное «каждому свое».
Мне очень повезло с друзьями. Представьте себе, у меня аж 3 настоящих друга. Конечно у меня есть и другие друзья и знакомые, но я не считаю их действительно настоящими друзьями. Как показывает мой предыдущий опыт, не все друзья – это «истинные друзья». Я очень рад, что мне посчастливилось встретить таких настоящих, искренних и верных друзей.

I have a lot of friends. Most of them are classmates. My best friend called Alex. He is fourteen. He lives with his parents not far from the school.
Alex has a lot of hobbies: he likes to play the computer, to read detective stories, to collect butterflies. He likes animals, espesially cats. He has got a cat Lastik at home.
Alex has short, light hair and grey eyes. He is quite short and rather thin. He always manages to be cheerful, energetic, full of life and energy. He is helpful and honest.
Alex is very popular. Hе is a helpful person and every time he tries to do her best to help somebody when he has problems.
Alex is very attentive to his parents. Of course, he has some drawbacks — sometimes she is a hurly-burly boy, a bit stubborn. But still like him as she has a good sense of humour and pleasant to deal with.
We spend much time together — watch video or listen to the music, walk or go to the cafe discussing all sorts of things. Our friendship helps me feel strong and sure of myself.
We are friends for a long time. We trust each other. We have some personal secrets. I can tell him about my troubles and he always helps me, if he can.
I cannot imagine my life without Alex. I appreciate our friendship and the fact that we are trying to help each other, and that we can talk about everything. Our friendship makes me happy.
